About

Born in the ’70s, educated in the ’80s, and shaped by the culture of the ’90s, I’ve reached fifty with the sense that the world I knew is slowly slipping out of focus. Life moves faster now, and somewhere along the way I realised I’d begun to feel quietly out of step.

What has always steadied me is being outdoors. ‘The Wandering Worrier‘ is my space for gentle exploration and small discoveries: walking, cycling, pausing, noticing. It’s about letting nature slow the mind, finding calm in movement, and connecting with the places and people I meet along the way.

Like many men of my generation, I grew up believing vulnerability was something to hide. I’ve come to see that my old habit of saying “I’m alright” was more armour than truth. Now I’m learning to face my anxieties with a little more honesty, and to look for approaches that genuinely help rather than simply mask.

This blog isn’t designed to be a guidebook or self-help tool. Just the musings of a very normal middle‑aged man with a restless mind and a growing desire to share the thoughts, ideas, and travels that shape my days.

My name is Stuart Lambert, and I’d love for you to wander with me.
